Before the meeting began people helped the Secretary fix his broken computer. Test ran during the meeting, OK.

Konrad Rosenbaum was introduced by Denis Oxford. Giving a presentation on Basic Desktop Security. Think Security five Questions.

Never rely on one single point of failure.

Design the threat model.

Distribution is first security. Choose a distribution that is designed for what you want to do. Update your system. Choose secure password. Remember passwords are unsafe.

The Joe Barr OLPC presentation. Uses Sugar interface. OLPC in the news. Dual boot OLPC and Win XP. MS denies involvement. Intel leaves the board of OLPC.

The OLPCs can talk to each other. Four people brought X0s in! We experiment with OLPC.

Elze brought a X0 laptop. She showed us it to us. No hard drive. Just a flash drive. Crippled OS. No windowing environment. She was hoping some of us could help her understand her machine. We were not much help. The other guy with an X0 did not show.

Denis Oxford showed us emulators that run on open BSD. DaveOS, Qemu, reactOS has a qemu kernel. Minux3 booted. May be able to get Hurd to boot one DO understands grub.
