Secretary called meeting to order @ 7:40

Treasure Introduces speaker "Jim Hogg"

Jim gives his presentation on his experiences of teaching Computer Programing, specifically C++ in the Round Rock School System. Some Points of interest from his discussion were:

* He teaches students to code and compile remotely in a server he maintains in his class room.
* He encourages his students to use a live cd version of Linux.
* He encourages his students to use a Debian distribution so they can easily load and try different software packages
* His favorite distribution in Mepis Linux.
* He has received commendations from various educational organization for his efforts
* His presentation was filmed and the JPEG will be made available.

October 30 2008

President call the meeting to order at 1830 hours.

The club celebrated Ubuntu 8.10 release program. The club provided
pizza for 23 attendees. These attendees included members of the GW
Linux Users Group and the Central Texas Users Group Linux SIG.

John Deardorf gave a presentation of the new features of *.10 Including
the new ffsf files system and encriptable mounts.

Our own President Stephen gave a presentation on "ubootem", a program to
make bootalbe CD's and pen drives from you favorite distribution.

The meeting adjourned at 2100.

20080508 Meeting Minutes

Meeting brought to order at 7:30pm

Web Admin Paul Elliott explained how to enter content in the Druple content
management.

Paul also gave a presentation on the Gimp on perspective
transformation.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm

20080502 Meeting

This was a coordination meeting. Events discussed were:

* planning an install fest. President Steve wanted to table this
discussion for further input;

* Plans to do a technical presentation at interval to be discussed;

* Plans for a newbe night at interval to be discussed.

Meeting adjourned at 8:50.

Minutes 20080424

New president (Steve) did presentation on the rack server he made a couple
of years ago with Supper Micro micro components.

Coordinate change of signature.

Created a plan to get new officers on mailing BOD mailing list.

President put forth his plans for presentations and some significant
news at each meeting.

The group had a discussion on the new Ubunto release.

Next Weeks Agenda discuss next install fest.
