Had a long discussion between Rob and the President concerning Cooperate mentality and the development of open source drivers. Rob contended that a proprietor router company (here in after called "routerco") was contemplating a total switch to open source for its operating system. Apparently the Free Software Foundation subsequently sued "routerco" for violating open source licensing which, of course, caused "routerco" to drop its migration plans. Rob argued that in this case the FSF had done something to actually stop the spread of open source soft ware.

Meeting started early, secretary did not arrive until 7:15pm.

President calls a board meeting at 0700pm next Thursday.

Group Discussion, discussed Microsofts working relationship with Novell and some discussion groups on reddit.com.

The president showed some of the work he has been doing with "Sun Systems" Virtual Box.

We discussed some open source re-makes of old games, including but not limited to "Pingus" a take off of an old game known as Lemmings.

The president also noted that he now had his Athos Chip set consumer routers working on Openwrt.

We also discussed the web page, putting surveys and designating an "open mike night" for presentations. Either the 3rd or 4th Thursday of the month.

Secretary arrives at 730 with meeting in progress.

President is continuing his class on "openwrt". The trend net router with athos chip set was now running Openwrt.

He also covered a serial connection via USB. by using a Cell phone connector. This is actually accomplished by soldering onto a serial port that most consumer routers.

We also discussed Paul's participation in a intellectual property law suit.

Stephen then proceeds to give a presentation on the various version of embedded Linux for consumer routers. This is mostly WRT for the broadcom chip set, but he does also cover WRT for Atheros. This discussion included:

* the history of WRT54G, the original linksys;
* other compatible routers:
* how to hard wire and access a router through a serial port;
* how to recover a brick;
* Actual examples of a flashed Linksys, Trendnet and Netgear routers.
