El President Paul gave us a good over view on how to set up your own domain name at name cheap and how to set the MX record to use google apps as a pop server in a way to make all emails look like they are coming from your own domain.

Paul then went through the specifics of setting you different mail clients to use this set. The mail clients he covered were mutt, Thunderbird and Evolution.

After the presentation there was some general discussion and the meeting adjourned at 10:00.

Jason tough a class on python. He reviewed a program he had writen to extract financial data from Yahoo and do some strait forward analysis.

He was able to show how logical structures and variables were used in python.

Due to hi interest in the subject the meeting ran late.

Clio did a presentation on Gentoo eBuild concentration on kernels. She walked through the rebuild of two kernels in detail.

Paul does a presentation on Dynamic DNS, he covers his DDNS service, how he set up his router to accept ssh log ins, how he forwards his mail with MX records and how he scrapped his IP address and updated his dynamic DNS address.

Meeting called to order by the president at 1930.

We attempted to view Linux Journal Live but found that it was a show tapped before Christmas.

George and Cindy told us of the PowerPC server they were building. It looks like an interesting box and they are going to come back and demonstrate it. The server is smaller than half a one U and runs on Ubunto. What was facinating was that it worked on 8 watts of power, Much less than your average pentium.

I was also verified that trendnet 652VRD routers were for sell last week for $25.00 at a local electronics discount house. We also mad mention of the Netgear WNR2000.

Meeting called to order at 1930 by the Secretary.

Paul gave a presentation on PGP. This included symmetric cypher keys and the distribution problem, and the public key cytology.

PGP storage key rings and key signatures.

After this great presentation Paul answered questions

The meeting was adjourned by the Secretary at 2045 hours.
