Individual develops embedded software to support video conferencing platforms. Responsibilities include work on embedded Linux kernel or other OS development, device drivers, software for board level hardware bring-up, platform services and special purpose diagnostic software.

In addition to designing and implementing new embedded software, individual may assist debug of existing video conferencing system software, and assist primary hardware engineers with hardware debug on existing and new platforms.

Desired experience includes Android development for custom Polycom hardware. Android experience should include development in multiple layers of the Android architecture, including Kernel/File system, Libraries and the Android Application Framework.


Senior Software Engineer with a B.S. in computer engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 to 7 years experience
Embedded Linux kernel and driver development experience
Experience with video and audio I/O devices
Experience with network devices and the software at all levels of the OSI model

Android development experience and in depth knowledge of the Android Architecture (highly desireable)
Experience with some combination of Power PC, ARM, Texas Instruments and PNX DSP’s (highly desirable)
Knowledge of protocols and standards applicable to the video conferencing environment helpful
Must be a dedicated self starter and able to take ownership of medium to large platform software efforts.
Should be able to delegate sub tasks to junior engineers and direct their efforts
