Carl Perry participated in a wide ranging discussion.
LINUX desktop flaws. Carl rediscovers the advantages of emacs.
Eclipse is too slow.
Java problems “write once run everywhere” really is “write once debug everywhere”.

ALG Nominations 1st thru 17th march. Election on 19th end 5pm 23rd Thursday.
April 1 new positions. Website now supports membership subscriptions.
Treasurer email not working.

Things we hate: Open office copies MS office too much.

LATEX is good. nvu good for web pages. Sea Monkey.
