A Look at Wine 1.1.5
For those of you not familiar with Wine, let's try two descriptions:
- Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix.
- Wine is a software program that provides a compatibility layer for running Windows programs on Linux, FreeBSD and various Unix cousins.
If you haven't looked at Wine for a while, you will be surprised by the improvements in just the last year. Clio Dunn will give a presentation at our October 9th meeting on how Wine has progressed and how you can take leverage its capabilities. We will also look at some specific applications running under Wine. Feel free to come as early as 7pm if you want to work on some specific issues with your Wine installation.
