Linux Systems Admin Position - Austin

I am a recruiter with The Madison Group. We do IT & engineering recruitment throughout the country. I am currently working with an outstanding organization in Austin who is looking for a Linux & Windows Sys Admin w/ netbackup experience. Here's the job description:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the daily management and operations of company's data protection strategy of its Production systems. Responsibilities include system design, setup, configuration, and developing/maintaining standards. Has knowledge of commonly-used and advanced concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, and working closely with upper management. Must be able to interface with other departments to establish policies, procedures, and solutions for Business Continuity.
-Setup/Maintain the server code for company's data protection strategy including schedules, storage pools, management classes, databases, recovery logs, performance parameters, and server options.
-Design, implement, and engineer system security standards, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
-Conduct research, cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis on proposed hardware, software and systems to justify recommendations, support purchasing efforts and aid management in making infrastructure design and architecture decisions.
-Propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates)
-Work in a position with an interesting mix of technical and client-facing work.
-Coordinate with IT administrators on issues affecting the production environments.
-Coordinate network administration for all production network and systems.
-Develop detailed documentation, policies, and procedures.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
-Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Management Information Science or equivalent experience
-2-3 years of technical experience designing, managing and implementing Business Continuity solutions at an enterprise level.
-3-4 years of technical experience managing and implementing Microsoft Windows server and Linux server technologies.
-3-4 years of experience designing, managing and implementing complex technical solutions
-Experience in AIX and/or SAN/NAS management is a plus.
-Be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Project and Visio.
-Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build critical relationships.
-Solid writing skills.
-Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
