We are looking for a Senior Systems Analyst for a good client of ours in Austin?
Client has about 500 servers they manage, so this candidate will need good experience managing a large server cluster.
They are looking for candidates with a solid background in LINUX and Solaris.
Key things for this position:
-MUST have good experience with Solaris
-Must have managed more than 10 servers at a time in a production environment
- This clients is a public company with very high level fortune 50 customers and candidates must follow process and procedures
The Senior Systems Analyst will join the IT Infrastructure team responsible for the development, deployment and management of the computing and communications infrastructure. The environment includes Sun servers and clusters running Oracle databases, and application web servers to support Client’s, Inc.'s business strategies. Candidate should have in-depth technical knowledge of Unix and Linux system administration, Windows 2000/2003 administration, tape backup technologies, security strategies and tactics, experience working in a fast-paced 24x7 work environment, and be well-versed in related industry trends. The position will focus primarily on Unix system administration, but will also include managing other aspects of the computing infrastructure, especially as it relates to security.
Support of Unix-based web & database applications, multi-location server/application design, and management/operation of the Client’s hosted environment in a highly available 24x7 environment
Sun server hardware and software upgrades
Hardware and software support of Enterprise RedHat Linux server environments
Support and management of disk storage subsystems (Hitachi & NetApp), and file system (Veritas) configuration and management
Security management and monitoring of the heterogeneous corporate computing environment
Management of a heterogeneous computing environments that include Windows, Macintosh and Unix computers
Contributing to design enhancements of infrastructure architecture to support business growth
Contributing to internal corporate network design and enhancements
Monitoring and reporting on performance levels of the complete production environment containing both Unix and Windows computers
Support and management of all backup and recovery for the enterprise
7-12 years of experience in Sun Solaris and Unix technologies (OS & Disk administration, clustering, Perl/shell scripting, monitoring & basic network setup)
Understanding of Web/application farm architectures and technologies (Tomcat/Apache, WebLogic & WebSphere)
Understanding of network (WAN and LAN) routing, TCP, IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, and other related internet protocols
Experience with backup and recovery strategies for a complete enterprise computing environment
Experience with Enterprise Monitoring, Change Management, and Incident Management toolsets
Ability to compile software from source as well as building packages
Knowledge and experience with managing heterogeneous computing environments
Experience in Storage Area Network design and/or management
Experience in technologies like Veritas Cluster and Veritas Storage Foundation a plus
Disaster planning experience a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Track record of establishing and meeting project schedules and goals
Technical undergraduate degree such as BS CS, Math, Physics (or equivalent experience)
