I just finished building a new computer and loaded Ubuntu. (newbie. I will get comfortable with Linux then make it my primary OS.)
I was in Fry's on Saturday and bought a win modem for my Windows box. "Hummingbird" 56k, $7 with a $7 mail in rebate.
The Hummingbird CD has Linux drivers on it. I didn't expect this. I might try to install it in my new machine. (My Zoom hard modem is old and sounds bad.)
Just wanted to let y'all know that Fry's has free modems with Linux software until June 5.
