Stephen Weeks will be giving a presentation related to Parrot.

Parrot is a project to build both a virtual machine for dynamic
languages and a comprehensive set of compiler-building tools to help
people implement their languages on top of Parrot.

Parrot was originally started to provide a virtual machine for Perl 6.

We've had regular monthly releases for quite a while now. We're a very
active open-source project.

John Terpstra, a Linux developer with a long and interesting history in the field, and a perspective on the past and future course of Linux. He is perhaps best known as the co-founder of the Samba project, and has written a couple of books on it. He is willing to speak to us on the topic of When will Grandma be ready for Linux?
